PROFILE

The business is operated by three partners (brothers in fact!), Dave Tony & Matt O’Brien, all trained as apprentices within W.P.O’Brien & Co and completing the post trade Clerk of Works Building Certificate Course.

The “WP” belongs to their father, Bill, who founded the business along with his wife Patricia, back in 1960. They sold the business to the boys in 1990 and so the tradition lives on along with 2 grandsons currently apprenticed!

With a combined experience of 90 years in residential building you can rest assured you are in good hands, and with your project having a partner hands on and on site co-ordinating both our team and our loyal band of sub-contractors we can guarantee a high quality of workmanship and a smooth transition from excavation to handing over the keys!

TRAINING

One of our commitments we take very seriously is the training of Apprentices through the Australian Apprenticeship Scheme & TAFE institute. We also liaise with school based work experience programs to provide students with an insight into the building industry prior to leaving school.

Tony works at the local TAFE one afternoon a week to stay in touch with current training methods and generally stay in touch with the students doing the TVET course.

Circumstances permitting, we endeavor to employ a new apprentice either annually or bi-annually – we have great faith in our younger generation!

SUB- CONTRACTORS

One of our greatest assets is the people who work with us. We see ourselves as part of our community and as such like to work with other members of that community. Many of our sub-contractors are local family businesses just like ourselves and our business relationships span over many years, in some cases decades. This brings a respect and co-operation between trades that helps deliver an end product that I’m sure you will be very happy with. The old adage “when your on a good thing, stick to it” is as true as it ever was.
